Colorado: Coffman Launches 2nd Ad Buy of GOP Battle

Secretary of State Mike Coffman, a leading candidate in the Aug. 12, 6th district GOP primary, has launched his second advertisement of the campaign.

The $100,000 buy, running on cable TV and radio, plays up Coffman’s military service in Iraq. The 30-second ad is scheduled to run through the end of this month.

“There is not a single Republican in Congress who served in Iraq. I want to change that,” Coffman says in the spot.

Coffman’s primary opponents include businessman Wil Armstrong, the son of former Sen. Bill Armstrong (R), and state Sens. Ted Harvey and Steve Ward.

The suburban Denver district is solid Republican territory. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R) is retiring.
