Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday announced three recommendations by the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee for committee assignments.

The committee recommended Rep. Gene Green (D-Texas) for chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Environment and Hazardous Materials; Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) for the Oversight and Government Reform Committee; and Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) for the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Science and Technology Committee.

The full Democratic Caucus is expected to vote on the nominations next week.
