Pelosi’s Book Tour: Coast to Coast

While most Members left the Capitol on Friday to enjoy August recess at home, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) embarks this week on a whirlwind tour to promote her just-released book, “Know Your Power: A Message to America’s Daughters.”

Pelosi spent the weekend in Washington, D.C., appearing Sunday on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” before departing on a promotion tour that includes stops in Boston, Philadelphia, Miami and Ann Arbor, Mich. She then returns home to California for events in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Pelosi is also squeezing a little time in her hectic schedule to help out the Democratic cause. On Thursday, she will headline a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Ann Arbor, where the University of Michigan is located. She also has fundraisers scheduled for this weekend in Southern California.

Pelosi is scheduled to sign books in Los Angeles on Aug. 11, and then the tour will wrap-up in her hometown of San Francisco with a book signing and talk on Aug. 14.

As of late last week, all of Pelosi’s book events were sold out — including one in Boston at the John F. Kennedy presidential library where 1,000 people are expected. Organizers of the tour were looking into arranging overflow rooms, according to event organizers.

As of midafternoon Friday, the book was ranked number 1,322 in sales among books on Amazon.com.
