GOP Returns to the House Floor
A handful of House Republicans returned Monday for another round of bashing Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for not bringing forward their energy package.
The Republicans managed to round up five Members, who interrupted their August recess to return to the House floor. Republicans say they plan to keep giving speeches in the House chamber sans microphones and television cameras until Congress returns on Sept. 8.
They repeated their message that Pelosi should call the House back into session to vote on a GOP bill that would expand offshore oil drilling. The five who showed up were Reps. Tom Feeney (Fla.), Tom Price (Ga.), Kevin Brady (Texas), Mike Pence (Ind.) and Sue Myrick (N.C.).
Referring to Pelosi, who is on a book tour to promote Know Your Power: A Message to Americas Daughters, Feeney proposed a title for her next one: How I Ruined the Worlds Greatest Economy.
Itll sell like hot cakes, he said.
