Horn Blows Into General Election With Hodes

Former radio host Jennifer Horn appears to have won the five-way GOP primary in New Hampshire’s 2nd district and will face Rep. Paul Hodes (D) this November.

According to election data from the New Hampshire Union Leader, Horn had a 1,400-vote lead over state Sen. Bob Clegg (R) with 67 percent of precincts reporting. Horn received 9,410 votes, Clegg received 8,010 votes and a third candidate, former Congressional aide Grant Bosse, had 2,121 votes.

Although Horn was initially recruited by national GOP leaders to run for the seat, poor fundraising dogged her campaign from the start. Clegg funded much of his own campaign, though still failed to pull off a win Tuesday evening.

The 2nd district leans Democratic and has voted for Democratic presidential candidates in recent cycles. Hodes is favored to keep his seat this November, though the race should be fairly close.
