North Carolina: Foxx Trying to Cash in on GOP Oil Protests

As Democrats flipped the lights back on in the House chamber this week, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R), who does not have a serious challenger this fall, asked her donors on Monday to pony up so she can “continue fighting for issues that are important to all of us.”

“It all started on Friday, August 1, when Nancy Pelosi adjourned the Congress for five weeks without allowing us to vote on the Republican-sponsored American Energy Act that offers a broad set of solutions to address the energy crisis that we are all facing,” Foxx wrote. “While the Democrats were on recess, the House Republicans stayed and fought for American families who continue to struggle with high gas prices.

Foxx closed the letter: “Your donation of $1,000, $500, $100 or even $25 will help me keep up this fight and others to come.”
