Missouri: Ag Group Backs Baker for Hulshof House Seat

State Rep. Judy Baker (D), who is seeking to replace departing Rep. Kenny Hulshof (R), was endorsed on Tuesday by the National Farmers Union, a Texas-based agricultural lobby with 250,000 national members.

“I am honored by the support of so many families that make our country great by their commitment to farming and ranching,” Baker said in a statement on Tuesday. “As I campaign from Miller County and up through Clark County, I listen to the concerns rural voters are facing. They want a real energy policy that puts families ahead of oil companies. They worry about the cost and access to health care in their communities.”

Baker, who has already been endorsed by EMILY’s List, won a tight four-way contest earlier this summer in the Show Me State primary to replace Hulshof, who is running for governor. Baker will face former state tourism director Blaine Luetkemeyer (R) on Election Day.
