Stevens’ Attorneys Again Seek Dismissal

Attorneys for Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) on Thursday again asked for a dismissal of the case because the government failed to turn over evidence that could have helped in his defense. Federal prosecutors admitted “that was an error.” But Judge Emmet Sullivan said, “I find it unbelievable that this was just an error.” If it was an error, the judge said, it was “gross negligence.” He has not yet ruled on Stevens’ motion to dismiss the case.
