Updated: 12:24 p.m.

A trickle of new votes for the $700 billion financial rescue package was turning into a flood Friday morning, as rank-and-file Republicans and Democrats announced they had switched their votes from Monday.

Democrats who said they were switching to a yes vote included Reps. Donna Edwards (Md.), Elijah Cummings (Md.), John Lewis (Ga.), Mazie Hirono (Hawaii), John Yarmouth (Ky.), Lynn Woolsey (Calif.) and Betty Sutton (Ohio).

Republicans also were falling in line, with Reps. Judy Biggert (Ill.), Mike Conaway (Texas) and Sue Myrick (N.C.) among the latest switchers and many more expected to join them.
