Clinton Endorsing in W.Va. Race

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) will make a campaign stop Friday in West Virginia to endorse Democrat Anne Barth in the race for the 2nd district seat.

Clinton, who overwhelmingly won West Virginia’s Democratic primary against Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) in the presidential campaign, will lend her star power to Barth in a closely watched race against GOP Rep. Shelley Moore Capito. Clinton will appear with Barth in Charleston.

Capito is favored, but Barth, a former aide to Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.), has run an energetic campaign and relied on Byrd’s popularity to pull an upset.
