Stevens Jury Adjourns for the Day

The jury in the trial of Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) has been sent home for the day. At the end of Stevens’ testimony today, both the defense and the government said they had no additional witnesses. The judge is scheduling closing arguments for Tuesday, and he told the jury that he suspected that would occupy most of the day. He also told the jury that he anticipates giving them instructions on Wednesday morning, after which their deliberations can begin.
