Porter Falls to Titus in Nevada

Rep. Jon Porter (R-Nev.) had been considered one of the most endangered incumbents of the cycle and predictions of his defeat came to pass early Wednesday morning when Nevada media called the 3rd district contest for former state Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus (D). Titus led by 6 points with nearly all precincts reporting. Democrats came into Tuesday’s contest with a huge voter-enrollment advantage in the suburban Las Vegas 3rd district. Titus also was widely known in the district after her failed 2006 gubernatorial campaign. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spent heavily in the 3rd district and Titus was strongly backed by the pro-abortion-rights group EMILY’s List.
