Lame Duck Still in Question

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told Democratic Members Wednesday morning that the lame-duck session remains in flux, even though she signaled Tuesday that she wanted the chamber to use the period to approve an aid package for the struggling auto industry.

In a “Dear Colleague” letter to the rank-and-file, Pelosi said she would give the official word in the coming days. “Members will be officially notified of the need to return to Washington, D.C. once a final determination is made by the end of this week,” she wrote.
