Davis Departs Congress Early

Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.) vacated his 11th district seat Friday, opting to leave Congress for the private sector just weeks before the end of the 110th Congress.

The Republican lawmaker began work Monday at Deloitte Consulting, a spokeswoman for the firm confirmed. Davis will work in the firm’s federal government services division.

The Clerk of the House will manage Davis’ former office until the start of the 111th Congress when Rep.-elect Gerry Connolly (D) is sworn in on Jan. 6.
