Leahy, Holder to Meet on Monday
Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) will meet Monday morning with Eric Holder, President-elect Barack Obamas nominee for attorney general.
Holders nomination is the most controversial of Obamas picks because he was involved with former President Bill Clintons decision to pardon billionaire Marc Rich. Leahy, however, maintains that Holder is qualified for the job and that he is simply taking the first step in the vetting process.
Leahy sent Holder a bipartisan committee questionnaire Friday that likely touches on the Rich pardon.
