NRSC Fills Two Senior Positions

New National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (Texas) on Thursday announced two key hires for the 2010 cycle.

Dorinda Moss, a fundraiser for Republican candidates and causes, will become finance director, and Brian Walsh, a Capitol Hill veteran who has been working in Cornyn’s Senate office, will become communications director.

Previously, Cornyn named Rob Jesmer, who ran his successful 2008 re-election campaign, as the NRSC executive director.

Moss comes to the NRSC from the group American Solutions for Winning the Future, where she served as vice president for finance, working closely with former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), who is the organization’s general chairman.

Earlier in the cycle, she was the finance director for the presidential campaign of former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-Tenn.). She has also raised money for the Republican National Committee, President George W. Bush’s re-election campaign and the Tennessee Republican Party.

Walsh worked for a variety of House Members and Congressional committees before becoming Cornyn’s chief Senate spokesman.
