Sen. Orrin Hatch (Utah) has been asked by National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (Texas) to reprise his role as the campaign committee’s vice chairman, a post he held in the previous election cycle at the request of then-Chairman John Ensign (Nev.).

“It’s a privilege to have my distinguished colleaugue [sic.] Senator Hatch help me here at the NRSC,” Cornyn said in a written statement released Thursday afternoon.

Hatch was instrumental in the NRSC’s fundraising efforts in the previous cycle.
