Bud Cramer Lands at Wexler & Walker

Former Rep. Bud Cramer (D-Ala.) is joining the lobbying firm Wexler & Walker Public Policy Associates.

The nine-term Democrat, who served on the Appropriations and Intelligence committees, will become chairman of the firm.

Cramer replaces former Rep. Bob Walker. Walker (R-Pa.), 66, will now take on the new role of executive chairman.

Cramer’s decision to head to K Street wasn’t surprising.

A Blue Dog Coalition co-founder, the 61-year-old Cramer opted not run again in November and had been on the short list of retiring Members of Congress that lobby shops were eager to hire.

Cramer joins colleagues like former Reps. Jim McCrery (R-La.), who joined Capitol Counsel in December, and Tom Davis (R-Va.), who left Congress to move to consulting firm Deloitte Federal Government Services in November.
