Oregon: Schrader Hosting Event Down on the Farm

Freshman Rep. Kurt Schrader (D) is inviting several of his friends to his Canby home this weekend — and is charging them $100 or more to attend.

Schrader is hosting a fundraiser for his re-election campaign at Three Rivers Farm, the farm he operates with his wife, Clackamas County Commissioner Martha Schrader (D), on Sunday. The farm, which sells fresh fruits and vegetables and baked goods, is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Schrader represents a formerly swing district in Willamette Valley that is trending Democratic, and if Republicans are to have any hope of toppling him, his first try at re-election may be their best opportunity. So far no well-known Republicans have come forward to challenge Schrader.
