President Barack Obama will travel Tuesday to Las Vegas for a fundraiser for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who faces what could be a tough battle for re-election.

A recent survey for the Las Vegas Review-Journal showed that half of Nevadans had an unfavorable view of Reid, and just 35 percent of voters would vote to re-elect the four-term Senator. National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (Texas) is hoping to take advantage of those numbers.

Obama will also stage an economic event in Las Vegas before traveling Wednesday to Los Angeles, where he will host a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee.
