HOH’s One-Minute Recess: A (Big) Easy Date

Political guru James Carville sure is playing the campaign fundraising field these days.

First, he and pal Paul Begala offered themselves up for a weekend in Washington, D.C., to help Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton pay down the debt from her presidential campaign.

Now, Carville will help Sen. Barbara Boxer raise some cash, offering one lucky donor to the California Democrat’s 2010 Senate campaign the chance to meet him in his hometown of New Orleans next weekend.

Anyone who donates online to Boxer’s campaign by 11:59 p.m. Friday is automatically entered to win the fully paid trip to the Big Easy to meet the Senator and the Ragin’ Cajun.

Drawn at random, the lucky winner and a guest will be flown to New Orleans on June 12 and set up with hotel accomodations through June 14 — a trip the campaign estimates is valued at about $2,000.

And while we’re sure Boxer is hoping to raise some cash through the fundraiser, here’s a little secret: Technically, you can enter the contest without donating anything.
