HOH’s One-Minute Recess: It’s a Bird …

Sky-diving former President George H.W. Bush is such a trendsetter. Now Rep. Nick Rahall is getting in on the aerial act and is planning to jump with the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights.

[IMGCAP(1)]It’s a first for the West Virginia Democrat, who will take the plunge on Saturday at the Friends of Coal Auto Fair in Beckley, W. Va.

“I’m looking forward to this with great enthusiasm, and hope for a gentle landing!— Rahall wrote in a press release.

That Toddlin’ Town. Among the giggling audience taking in Wednesday’s opening night performance of Chicago comedy troupe Second City’s “Barack Stars— was Rep. Jan Schakowsky, an HOH spy says. (Full disclosure: Roll Call is the media sponsor of the show’s three-week run.)

The Illinois Democrat was accompanied by her husband, Robert Creamer, at the comedy revue show at the Woolly Mammoth Theater, and she was still sporting a cast after breaking her ankle touring the detention facility at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, last month.

Per our spy, the night’s biggest laugh lines from the wisecracking comics came at the expense of fellow Illinoisans, President Barack Obama, White House chief of staff and former Rep. Rahm Emanuel and former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
