From there, said the Member, subcommittees will submit their findings and recommendations to Intelligence Chairman Silvestre Reyes (D-Texas), who will then decide where to go at the full committee level.Committee members have been scrambling over how to proceed after CIA Director Leon Panetta told the panel last month that his agency has concealed information and misled lawmakers about the secret program since 2001. Details have since emerged that suggest former Vice President Dick Cheney directed the CIA to hide the program from Congress. The subcommittees will hold closed and public hearings, according to the Intelligence member, who requested not to be named.
