ACLU Lobbyist Larry Frankel Found Dead in Rock Creek Park

American Civil Liberties Union lobbyist Larry Frankel was found dead in Rock Creek Park late last week, the organization confirmed on Monday. Frankel, who worked at the organization for 15 years, was the state legislative director at the ACLU’s Washington, D.C., office.“Frankel was an irreplaceable member of the ACLU staff who was dedicated to working to defend the Constitution and individual rights throughout his long and distinguished career,— the organization said in a statement.. “A committed workaholic with an irreverent sense of humor, Frankel played a key role in analyzing legislation, conducting background research and providing legislative strategy to the ACLU’s 53 state affiliates.—News reports suggest that Frankel, 54, a University of California at Berkeley graduate, died of natural causes while running in the park Wednesday.
