Colorado: Perlmutter Forms New Leadership PAC

Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D) has formed a leadership political action committee to assist his party’s candidates in the 2010 elections.

Appropriately named EDPAC, Perlmutter’s new committee gives him another vehicle to donate funds to incumbents and candidates who will face more competitive races than he will.

Perlmutter seems politically secure in the 7th district, which includes some inner suburbs of Denver. He won a second term in 2008 with 63 percent of the vote, raising $1.8 million along the way, and he is heavily favored to win again in 2010.
