Ring Jury Declares Itself ‘Deadlocked’

Jurors in the trial of former House-aide-turned-lobbyist Kevin Ring declared themselves “irrevocably deadlocked— Tuesday on all but one charge.

District Judge Ellen Huvelle ordered the jury to continue deliberations but dismissed the panel mid-afternoon to “take a rest.— The jury made its declaration to the judge in a note she read in open court.

Ring faces eight counts of violating federal law, including providing illegal gratuities to Congressional aides. He was indicted in September 2008 on charges stemming from the influence-peddling investigation of disgraced ex-lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
