Obama Moves Meeting with House Democrats to Saturday

President Barack Obama will meet with the House Democratic Caucus on Saturday instead of Friday to make a last-ditch appeal for health care reform, according to the White House. The White House gave no reason for the change, but the House is expected to vote on the health care bill later in the day or evening on Saturday.

Obama Friday afternoon will meet at the White House with Democratic Rep.-elect Bill Owens of New York, who defeated Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in a special election to take the 23rd district on Tuesday. The White House has been pointing to that victory to counter claims that GOP wins in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races signal that Obama’s agenda is losing support.
