Ex-Congressman, State Senator Might Run For Rep. Brown’s Seat

CQ Politics has spent a good chunk of Monday analyzing the political fallout of South Carolina Rep. Henry Brown‘s announcement that he will not seek re-election this year.

It’s not every day that a member of Congress announces plans to retire, and so numerous potential candidates are floating their names and saying that they will decide soon whether to try to succeed Brown, a five-term Republican.

CQ Politics most recently spoke with former Rep. Tommy Hartnett (R) and state Sen. Chip Campsen (R), who both said they would consider campaigns.
