Ex-Rep. Fitzpatrick Mulling Murphy Rematch in PA

Former Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) is seriously mulling a rematch against the man who defeated him in 2006, two-term Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Pa.).

The Allentown Morning Call reported Friday that a source close to Fitzpatrick said he was poised to get in the race by the end of the month. Murphy defeated the then-freshman Fitzpatrick by a slim 1,518-vote margin 2006.

CQ Politics currently rates this general election contest as Safe Democratic.
