Ex-Schmidt Challenger Didn’t Raise The Money

Ohio state Rep. Todd Book (D) filed a campaign report Friday that helps explain why he ended his campaign in the 2nd district: he wasn’t raising much money.

Book, who had planned to challenge Rep. Jean Schmidt (R), raised just $16,000 in the fourth quarter of last year. He was a candidate for nearly two months of that three-month period, withdrawing from the race just before Thanksgiving.

Democrats David Krikorian, Jim Parker and Surya Yalamanchili are seeking the nomination.
