Texas: McDonald Could Have Been a Contender

Texas technology executive Jack McDonald would have been one of the best-financed challenger candidates in the nation had he stuck with his campaign to challenge Rep. Michael McCaul (R).

McDonald, a Democrat who shuttered his campaign in the 10th district just before Christmas, said in a filing to the Federal Election Commission that he raised $1.1 million in 2009 and ended the year with $861,000 in the bank.

McCaul is now being challenged by Democrat Ted Ankrum.
