Pelosi Wants Broader Reid Jobs Bill

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is pushing the Senate to agree to a significantly broader jobs package than the stripped-down version proposed Thursday by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

Pelosi said in a statement that she looks forward to reviewing the Senate bill, but added she will work to enact “critical pieces” of the House jobs bill passed in December, “including investments in our roads, bridges and public transit systems, support for job training initiatives, and funding to keep police and firefighters on the streets and teachers in the classroom.”
