Boozman Taps Sarah Huckabee as Campaign Manager

Rep. John Boozman (R-Ark.) announced Tuesday that he had tapped Sarah Huckabee, daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R), to manage his Senate campaign.

Sarah Huckabee is a former executive director of Huck PAC, her father’s political action committee, and also served as national political director for her father’s 2008 presidential campaign.

“Sarah has the experience, leadership qualities, and intimate knowledge of Arkansas I’m looking for in a campaign manager,” Boozman said in a statement. “I am thrilled Sarah will serve as my campaign manager and I am fully confident she has what it takes to help me secure the primary nomination and successfully lead my efforts to represent the people of Arkansas in the U.S. Senate come November.”

Sarah Huckabee’s leadership role in Boozman’s campaign is particularly interesting considering the fact that her father has been an active supporter of one of Boozman’s primary opponents, businessman Curtis Coleman (R).

Coleman is a longtime associate of Mike Huckabee’s who helped manage the former governor’s 1992 Senate campaign and served as national fundraiser for his 2008 presidential campaign.

Last fall, before Boozman’s interest in the Senate race was known, Mike Huckabee held a $500-per-person fundraiser for Coleman at his home in Little Rock.
