HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Separated at Birth?

Newly minted Ways and Means Chairman Sander Levin (D-Mich.) looks an awful lot like a certain Senator — but this Senatorial twin isn’t his brother, Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.). Sander Levin’s resemblance to the fictional Sen. Palpatine of the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy hasn’t gone unnoticed on the Hill.

[IMGCAP(1)]Palpatine, whose alter ego is the bad-dude Darth Sidious, goes on to become the evil Emperor Palpatine. But in his pre-evil days, he does look an awful lot like Sander Levin, who we’re pretty sure doesn’t have a dastardly secret identity.

Palpatine has been likened to Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) and Pope Benedict XVI, but we agree that he’s a dead ringer for the new Ways and Means chairman. Here’s the photographic evidence — compare Palpatine’s visage to Levin’s look.
