Iowa: Gibbons On the Air in Boswell’s District

Financial adviser Jim Gibbons (R) cites his past career as a champion wrestler and coach in his first television advertisement ahead of a June 8 House primary.

In the ad, Gibbons says he learned to set goals and work hard as a wrestler and applied them to his second career in finance. He suggests that he would do the same representing the 3rd district, where Rep. Leonard Boswell (D) is seeking re-election.

“I’m running for Congress to stop wasteful spending, lower taxes and grow Iowa jobs,” Gibbons says.

Gibbons is the best-funded Republican in a seven-candidate primary that includes businessman Scott Batcher, psychiatrist Pat Bertroche, aviation consultant Dave Funk, retired architect Mark Rees, businessman Jason Welch and state Sen. Brad Zaun.
