Nation: GOP Chooses Tampa for 2012 Convention

The Republican National Committee announced Wednesday that it has chosen Tampa, Fla., as the site of its next national convention.

The runner-up cities for the event, planned for the week of Aug. 27, 2012, were Phoenix and Salt Lake City.

The choice of Tampa won’t be official until after the full RNC votes at its August meeting.
