Nevada: Reid’s New Ad Focuses on Jobs for Teachers

An elementary teacher excited to walk through the schoolhouse door is the featured face in the latest campaign commercial for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D).

The spot emphasizes the incumbent’s ability to deliver locally: “Harry Reid got funds to save 3,500 education jobs in Nevada.”

“We’re still teaching because of Harry Reid,” teacher Bridget Zick says in the narration. “That’s the power that he has.”

The ad came out as Reid’s GOP opponent, Sharron Angle, was beefing up her campaign messaging force.

Jordan Gehrke, who worked on the campaign of Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), was named communications director, with Ciara Matthews moving from the state Republican Party to become his deputy, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
