Funeral Services Set for Stevens

Funeral services for former Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) will be held Wednesday afternoon in Anchorage.

According to a notice sent to all 100 Senators on Thursday morning by the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, the funeral will be held at the Anchorage Baptist Temple at 2 p.m. local time. All Senators have been invited to attend the services.

The Senate passed a resolution Thursday morning honoring Stevens’ life, and Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) could provide time for lawmakers to give floor statements on Stevens’ life when lawmakers return from recess next month.
