HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Raising Awareness

Congress is back in session, and along with the legislators come the celebrity advocates. On Tuesday, former NFL player Rosey Grier and Jean Fogelberg, the widow of singer-songwriter Dan Fogelberg, plan to be on Capitol Hill.

Grier went to the Pro Bowl twice as a defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams before quitting the game and becoming a minister, while Dan Fogelberg is best known for making several gold and platinum albums in the 1970s and 1980s.

The pair are in town to raise awareness about prostate cancer, a disease that affects one in six American men and cost Dan Fogelberg his life. Grier and Jean Fogelberg will be advocating on behalf of the Prostate Cancer Foundation as part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

The celebs are scheduled to begin their day with a survivors’ rally in Dupont before making their way to Capitol Hill, where they will mingle with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) at an evening reception.
