Gen. Jones to Step Down as National Security Adviser

Gen. James Jones will step down as President Barack Obama’s national security adviser, a White House aide confirmed Friday.

Obama’s deputy national security adviser, Tom Donilon, will replace Jones, the aide said. Obama will make the announcement at 1 p.m. Friday in the Rose Garden. Jones’ resignation is expected to take effect in two weeks.
