Club for Growth to Spend Another $1 Million in Pennsylvania Senate Race

The Club for Growth is going all in for its former president, Republican Pat Toomey.

The conservative organization on Thursday afternoon announced a $1 million ad buy in Philadelphia to highlight “the liberal voting record of Democrat Congressman Joe Sestak.”

The group has already spent more than $1.1 million on the Pennsylvania Senate race, according to independent expenditure records. The new 30-second spot, titled “Navy,” will run in the Philadelphia media market through Election Day.

“Joe Sestak served honorably in the Navy. His service in Congress is the problem,” a female narrator says at the outset, later linking Sestak to the policies of the Obama administration, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

The ad ends with this shot: “Joe Sestak, just another liberal.”
