Walden to Lead House GOP Transition

House Republican leadership on Wednesday will tap Rep. Greg Walden (Ore.) to lead the GOP transition team, according to GOP aides.

Walden, the current chairman of Republican leadership, will be in charge of several working groups that will be in charge of reviewing the rules of the House and planning the implementation of the “Pledge to America.”

One Republican aide said the transition team will help ensure “the majority is ready to hit the ground running” when it officially takes control of the House in January.

Aides said 12 to 20 Members would be named to the transition team working groups in the next few days, but they declined to list which lawmakers would be involved.
