Obama Extends Hawaiian Vacation

President Barack Obama is extending his Hawaiian holiday by a day, his spokesman said Wednesday.

Obama was originally expected to return to Washington on Jan. 3, but he will now be back Jan. 4.

“After the extended lame duck and five-day delay of his trip here, he’s just trying to squeeze in more time with his family before returning to Washington,” White House spokesman Bill Burton told pool reporters.

The president has been in Hawaii with his family since Dec. 23.
