Hill Leaders to Huddle With Hu

House and Senate leaders will meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao on Thursday, according to Hill aides.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) are among the Hill leaders set to meet with Hu, who arrives Tuesday for his first state visit during President Barack Obama’s presidency.

A Reid spokesman said he plans to talk to Hu about “currency, international trade, North Korea and human rights.”

Several Congressional leaders won’t be attending the Capitol Hill meeting due to prior engagements, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.).
