Bachmann Giving Her Own Tea Party SOTU Response

Republicans now have two responses planned for President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech Tuesday.

In addition to the response from Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (Wis.) that will air on the networks, Tea Party Caucus founder Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) has decided to deliver a unsanctioned version live on the Tea Party Express’ website. 

“Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has confirmed with us that she will broadcast her response to Barack Obama’s State Of The Union address this Tuesday,” Tea Party Express leader Amy Kremer wrote in a message to supporters today. “You’ll be able to watch her rebut Obama via her address which will be broadcast on our website: www.TeaPartyExpress.org.”

We’ve yet to hear any response from House Republican leadership on the move by Bachmann, who dropped her bid for a leadership spot to avoid an intraparty battle. She’s been flirting with Iowa conservatives and hasn’t ruled out a 2012 presidential bid.
