Two Democratic Campaign Consulting Firms Merge

Two major Democratic campaign consulting firms will announce a new partnership Monday: 4C Partners and Message & Media will become 4C/M&M.

The joint venture will combine 4C Partners’ expertise in consulting, new media and fundraising with Message & Media’s expertise in strategy, media and direct mail. It will have offices in Boston, Washington, D.C., and New Brunswick, N.J.

Leaders of the two firms have worked for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, as well as on gubernatorial campaigns. Brian Smoot, managing partner for 4C Partners, was in charge of the DSCC’s independent expenditure effort in 2010.

“There are a lot of moving pieces in a modern campaign but sometimes those pieces produce friction and wasted motion more than victory,” Smoot said in a release. “By combining our talents and services, 4C/M&M can be a simple solution for hard campaigns.”
