Heard on the Hill: Rock On
The Second Amendments just got one step closer to a full reunion.
HOH reported last week that Reps. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) and Collin Peterson (D-Minn.), the only two Members of the band who still have seats in Congress, are slated to perform after the Washington Press Club Foundation’s annual Congressional dinner.
Now we hear former Rep. Kenny Hulshof (R-Mo.) will be performing, too.
“I’m looking forward to jamming with the boys in the band,” Hulshof says. “I’m still hopeful for a VH1 ‘Where are They Now?’ episode.”
Hulshof, who left Congress in 2009 and works for the law firm Polsinelli Shughart, will play the drums.
“The real question is: Will the quality of our performance be any different after a two-year layoff?” he says.
The Second Amendments used to play various D.C. events before three of the five Members left Congress. The band’s original lineup featured Peterson, McCotter and Hulshof, along with ex-Reps. Dave Weldon (R-Fla.) and Jon Porter (R-Nev.).
