HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Congressional Career Options

As rumors swirl that former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is in talks for a job at Facebook, Esquire magazine has released a list of other political types and the social networking sites where they could potentially work.

The tongue-in-cheek list pokes fun at several Members of Congress, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker John Boehner.

The article, published online Monday, suggests the Nevada Democrat take a job working at FourSquare, the website that allows you to “check in” to various locales and see where your friends are at all times. “Reid, who is omnipresent in every D.C. power corridor known to man, could have his life made exponentially easier by this stunning innovation in name-dropping technology,” the article reads.

Nobody likes being called a name-dropper, but Reid gets off easy compared to Boehner. The magazine suggests the Ohio Republican get a job working at MySpace, which is known for being favored by more, er, emotional people.

“After all, MySpace is for 14-year-old girls who cry a lot. … Could be a great fit,” Esquire says.

Ouch! Here’s hoping Boehner has a tissue nearby when he reads the article.
