Heard on the Hill: A Musical Break With Tom Chapin
Looking for a break from the Monday grind?
Swing by the Library of Congress this afternoon to hear some live music by Grammy-winning children’s and folk singer Tom Chapin.
The ASCAP Foundation, a charity that supports American music creators, is hosting a concert for Members of Congress and their families. Songwriter and foundation President Paul Williams, best known for writing Kermit the Frog’s hit “The Rainbow Connection,” will host the event, and Rep. Howard Coble (R-N.C.) will speak. HOH hears that Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) is also expected to attend.
In addition to the concert, Williams will have an educational discussion with Chapin about the life of a songwriter and the challenges of writing for a young audience. The show begins at 4 p.m.
