Heard on the Hill: Politics Really Is Theater
Members of Congress will get a chance to show off their acting skills next month at the annual “Will on the Hill” performance.
The play, held at Sidney Harman Hall in Penn Quarter, casts lawmakers, actors and journalists in a live stage performance.
This year it will feature several Members of Congress, including Reps. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.), Bruce Braley (D-Iowa), Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Jim McDermott (D-Wash.). Tim Daly, star of ABC’s “Private Practice,” will also perform, as will Tony-nominated actor Euan Morton.
The cast will perform “The World’s a Stage” written by Peter Byrne and directed by Alan Paul. In addition to American politicians, this year’s event will feature a performance by Ian Liddell-Grainger, a Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom.
Tickets to the May 2 performance cost $50 each, while VIP tickets, which include dinner, cost $250.
